Yılmaz Menzilci cuts hair and trims beards at Barber’s Club in Bağlarbaşı, a neighborhood in Istanbul’s Maltepe district. In this interview from his shop, he talks in Turkish about how he became a barber and what the work means to him.

- Where is Yılmaz Menzilci’s barbershop in Maltepe?
Barber’s Club is at Gülyolu Sokak No. 7 in Bağlarbaşı, on Istanbul’s Asian side. Open directions to plan your route from where you’re staying.
Directions from my location- Do I need an appointment?
Yes. We work by appointment only so we can give every client our full attention.
The shop is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Istanbul time. It’s closed on Sundays.
- How far in advance should I book?
Evening appointments usually fill up about a week in advance, and daytime appointments two to three days ahead. If you’re visiting from abroad, message us on WhatsApp before your trip with your preferred date and service.
